New Zealand awesomeness or shittiness

Let's hope the murder of Grace Millane has not changed the world's view of how people see New Zealand. Auckland City is generally a safe place unless you go into certain parts of South Auckland or into the wopwops of Northland.

I don't think one incident will. NZ is far far far safer than most places around the world. I think that's why this case is even more shocking.

I moved to NZ 15 years ago, and love it.
More space, more relaxed lifestyle, more outdoor activities. Like every country there's good blokes and bad, but the nice ones vastly outnumber the cutns.
Food and housing are expensive, and pay's not as good, but taxes are reasonable.

However, we're now planning on going back to Scotland.
Not surprisingly for the weather and healthy lifestyle, but because my daughter, my granddaughter and my son now all have moved back as well.
I really don't want to go, but I want to be able to visit my family (especially my lovely wee granddaughter) more than once a year, and the 36 hour flight is getting a bit hard on my aching bones.

So we're sailing back on Sea Princess.

Didn't realize that the only way to get back from NZ to civilization is on a steam ship! Must be more backwards than I thought! ;)

And are all those migrants pickup or dropoff points?

Safe travels sir.

Anybody wants to be a copper in NZ?

Fun fact: I once dated a NZ copper chick here in London. She was working at the NZ embassy here.

She, if your statement is a fact, would not have been working in the NZ Embassy, as there is no such thing in the UK, but would have been working in the NZ High Commission.

Ahh...I am American, so we don't do High Commissions, so for us typically those are just called as embassies.

It hasn't, and your new Prime Minister has a good, down to earth, caring vibe about her. NZ all the stronger actually.
