I have joined your web forum to post a new petition regarding military care. This was brought about after a TV interview which followed on from a Times article about a Serviceman who had been given notice to quit his home. The Times article can be read here: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article2797265.ece I do not know this lad, but after seeing him talking about how he felt was incensed enough to write up a petition to the Prime Minister's site http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/MilitaryCare/ Even if the petition gets no seen difference I hope it will show the Government that many ordinary civilians do care about our men and women in the military. Our men and women of the Services deserve better than what is being reported through the media. I would hope that there is a liaison between the military and local authorities that would ensure housing, in this mans case, which is of similar standards to that which needs to be vacated, is found before any formal notice to quit is handed to the service man or woman involved. November seems an apt Month for this story to have been brought to the publics attention. Having an Uncle who is buried in Ranville Cemetery France, and having known the parents of a young man killed at Goose Green, Falkland Islands and the continuing positions our men and women of the Services are faced with I hope that people from everywhere will support the petition and remind Government that they MUST remember, and remember to treat our service men and women with the dignity and respect they deserve. I am sorry for the intrusion, but hope some of you will support and pass on this petition, thank you.
