New museum in Massachusetts with extensive armour collection.

A brand new museum is due to be opened in Massachusetts next spring but it’s having a series of preview weekends -- it’s unfinished, smells of paint, doesn’t yet have explanatory wall signs or labels or even working toilets. It’s about an hour west of Boston, it’s called the American Heritage Museum and houses a vast collection of military vehicles, notably tanks, from the First World War to the Gulf War. Apparently the majority of the tanks are in working condition and they plan to bring them out periodically after the grand opening next year.

wow hatches open so you can take a peek inside the Churchill, their Matilda is painted up as a copy of the Bovington one prior to it's restoration in Olive green, even down to the name. Some nice kit there in excellent condition. Good pictures by the way.

It’s basically the rump of the old Littlefield collection. I have filmed in a number of the vehicles.

Here’s the unofficial high speed tour.

Ah perhaps I should have read the previous posts.

I got to clamber around the collection for a couple hours on my 40th a few years back when it was still in Portola valley ; the wife said it was the happiest she’d ever seen me...

Oh to be a billionaire.
