Quite a significant change. Could the appointment of David Evans as Labour Gen Sec be pivotal in bringing Labour back towards the centre and shedding the extremists, racists and communists?

Labour will never get rid of the XLW and I am sure Sir KS realises that fact very well.

What he can do is take away the blanket power they almost reached under Corbyn, probably the worst leader Labour have ever had.

A return to sensible policies, picking fights they may actually win and not opposing just for the sake of doing so thus leading to a Party that was all over the place; these are some of the potential benefits of Sir KS's leadership.

I expect the next Shadow Cabinet shuffle to see the axing of Rebecca Wrong Daily and other Momentum supporters. At the moment KS is working on the NEC. No Party conference this year so no infighting to put up with. He is in an extended honeymoon period and I expect he is working hard to build his own powerbase.

Or maybe not!

Ding Dongs support for the teachers not teaching could lead to 1. An excuse for Sir K to bin her 2. She resigns to increase her popularity with the XLW?

That must be pretty much their entire Westminster cohort? I was under the impression that in order to be a Shadow, you had to have a position to shadow? Minister for Peace and Disarmament? I think the Shadow Minister for Flooding should be renamed SM for Swamping and I think veterans have been very badly treated (paging @don't tell him pike).

It seems that the Labour Shadow Cabinet has 98 positions.

The Conservative Cabinet (the one that actually runs the country) has 22.

Is there extra money in being in the Shadow Cabinet vs just being an MP?

I believe not, but it isn't about the money. In the world of socialism everybody has to have a seat at the table so they can all feel impotentimportant.

I don’t believe so.
However, it does provide an extra, ‘impressive’ line to a signature block and on HoC headed notepaper: useful (?) when writing to Judges re offspring and their misdemeanours.

Some of the titles are brilliant too, straight out ofThe Woke Playbook. They managed to avoid the Minister for Silly Walks but only just and presumably because it’s Disablist?

How socialism works. All those chiefs enhanced equality holders scrabbling for a spot in the Nomenklatura so they can shove around the less equal indians comrades and receive the obeisance to which their leftie lofty position entitles them.

98 in a Cabinet. A full meeting must be a hoot! Makes me think of the old comment on Mess Meetings 'When all's said and done there is more said than done'.

Half the "shadow posts" listed are just departments of the main offices.

e.g. Shadow minister for policing and fire service = Home Office.
Shadow minister for prisons and probation = err still the Home Office.

Also there appear to be a lot of made up posts.

Shadow minister for victims and youth justice?
Shadow minster for faiths? FFS!

To mis quote Monty Python's LoB, it's seems there is a shadow minister for just about everyone with a vested interest in the staus quo!

How on earth can there be a 'shadow' minister for something that doesn't exist to shadow? It's not shadowing anything.

Is there one for people with a vested interest in Status Quo?? or failing that, Rainbow :)
