New Israeli uniform

I hope that they are all kosher. Made you I doubt that any of them would match up to DMS boots and puttees.
I've used both DMS ankle boots + puttees and IDF boots. The IDF boots were better.
Even better was the IDF method of not shining your boots - slapping on polish was enough....
With the ankle height boots though I found puttees were quite a good idea (in the UK climate). They supported/protected the ankle and sealed the tops of the boots from dirt. Too much hassle to take on and off though.
 
British Airborne units wore black boots, although some officers may have worn brown. I think the British Army switched from brown boots to black in 1920. And back to brown 90 years later.
US paras had brown boots - made by Corcoran iirc.
