@Helm and myself have had a bit of a chat over this and we have decided the New Group Build will commence on 16 Jan 2022.
It will be entitled "The Italian Campaign 3 Sept 1943 to 29th April 1945" and may incorporate any of the many events from that campaign . There is plenty of scope for Land, Sea and Air models and with sixteen allied nations involved in the fighting, plenty of scope for something different. The Eastern Front Group Build will terminate at midnight on 15 Jan.

Not to mention the other side, Bf 109 G-6's were used by the Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana BTW ;)

Oh f*****g yes! I'm up for this one. And I know exactly what model I'm gonna build too.

So the bulk of the period will be post-volte face?? Certainly post/during Scicily and encompassing Salerno, Anzio, Cassino, Clark's vanity swerve on Rome, the Gustav line, and so on?

Diorama opportunities would thus abound...

Either way, if a kit for a Carro Veloce L3/33 is on the market, there's opportunity for a desert diorama showing one making the mistake of firing it's flame gun whilst moving ahead at full chat, using the the airbrushed cotton wool and LED smoke/flame technique, as it is engulfed by it's own emission.

Shame the period does not allow for Op. Compass whereby actions by the Allies forced a substantially numerically superior Italian force to surrender at Bardia, causing Anthony Eden to report that "Never was so much surrendered by so many to so few."

Absolutely right with the era. We wanted to move away from Sicily and concentrate on what Churchill referred to as "The soft underbelly of Europe". There is far more to the Italian campaign. Monte Cassino would cover four separate battles; Italians fought Italians and Germans and it all got a bit silly with various commanders wanting "the glory that was Rome".For the Navy types there are the landings on the heel and toe of Italy The flying people get the choice of different aeroplanes and the Military types get the mud, blood and vino. Happy modelling.

Having received Heller’s lovely little M4A2 for Christmas, I might do either of these, but would need to find the decals:

Different subject but always thought Jordan’s underwater tank museum would be an excellent subject for @SPROCKET321 :

that must have been taken days after they were placed perfectly on the seabed, they get encrusted within months, perfect habitat to raise shoals of new sealife., Jordan have the right idea to encourage dive tourism, I wish we would, we do have a lot of wrecks to dive, but man made reefs are a thing of wonder.

I agree about artificial reefs around the UK, it would be a good tourist draw. But up most of the east coast the visibility is normally shit.

Oh you bad bad man, now I feel duty bound to find something to depict so there will have to be an addition to the stash, good thing No 1 son goes home tomorrow and I can have my modelling room back.

I'll be building this, representing the bad guys, well they were involved and showed themselves to be a very admirable enemy, in terms of their fighting prowess, it took the Nazi hating Poles to finally drive them from Casino.

this kit is the later Tamiya incarnation, replacing the earlier over thickness model. Not made one of these since the early days of Tamiya Military Miniatures.

I'll have to research the italian colours for the Schwimmwagen, I've also committed myself to a GB over on brexitmod, I don't think I can stretch this Arado float plane to the D DAY Dodgers operation, but I'll share it on Arrse anyway.

what Churchill referred to as "The soft underbelly of Europe".
In no particular order, the Gustav Line, the Gothic Line, the Caesar Line, the Hitler/Senger Line, the Bernhardt Line and the Winter Line might have disproved that statement somewhat!
