  1. KABUL – NATO says one of its soldiers has died of wounds received in an insurgent attack in southern Afghanistan.

    The military alliance says the soldier died Monday. The NATO statement did not provide the soldier's nationality, the day of the attack or its exact location.
    Southern Afghanistan is the center of the Taliban insurgency. The U.S. is sending thousands of new troops to the south this year to try to reverse Taliban gains. The Islamic militants have made a violent comeback the last three years following an apparent initial defeat after the 2001 U.S. invasion.

  2. as this link suggests, aren't we a part of NATO? wonder why they're only giving info on 1 NATO soldier been killed. theres over 250 UK troops sadly killed so far, not to mention all other nationalities!
