Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Amazingly the US are driving it through.

Was this not supposed to happen 15 years ago?

    See article here

    Clicky thing

bloody hell, does that mean all the barracks need rebuilding in Munster and Dortmund et al
  3. I like the way the article states the pentagon ''Dreamed up'' the idea.

After russia pretty much realised their equipment isnt of the best calibre for this century i dont think further aggresions on their cards. (from a thread posted yesterday just an article on the russians reality check)
  4. If only NATO had had a plan to counter Georgian aggression, we might not be in the situation we're in.

Oh, but of course. The Russians are the baddies. I forgot for a moment.

Perhaps the US would be better off telling wannabe US satalite states not to start shelling Russian troops
As far as I can see Georgia started it,then when it all went pear shaped expected the US and us to blitkrieg our way to Moscow
Aren't we overstretched enough without all this bollocks?
  6. The powers that be could always permit the Reformation of The Liebstandarte, Das Reich and Wiking Panzer Divisions. I'm sure there'd be thousands of eager young shaven headed Teutons willing to have a pop at Ivan.
They could even use some of those 'wacky' British SS re-enactors as a training cadre. :D
  7. I read the Times article, more interesting were the comments, even more interesting was the locations of the commentators.
US of A, Russia dominate and very few from the UK, just shows how interested / knowledgeable the general public appear to be .....

Anyway I cant seem to locate the gas pipeline between Russia and the US of A, just a thought.

  8. The Economist printed this article not to long ago...

  9. Let's reread this passage: "The main threats to the West now are Russia’s manipulation of oil and gas exports, its diplomatic spoiling tactics, and its dalliances with Iran, Syria and Venezuela. The danger of a direct attack by Russia is remote. But the indirect threat of its more advanced weapons being sold to such potential Western foes is a growing worry."

Does Syria, Venezuela and Iran have major problems with any of European states to the point they could be described as "foes"? No. But they have big problems with the US (actually, it's the other way round: the US have big problems with Syria, Venezuela and Iran).

And now let's put the true meaning into the context: Since "the danger of a direct attack by Russia is remote"(according to Russian side, -- not in the planning), Russian threat to the US, European and Asian countries is also remote (or non-existent). The main threats to the USA is Russia's dalliances with Iran, Syria and Venezuela in response to ever increasing US aggressive presence on Russian borders and in traditional Russian sphere of influence. So, NATO member-states need to continue putting themselves on the line in order defend US world ambitions.
  10. I do believe that USA have completely over extended themselves within the last 2 decades.

But it happens to all empires eventually...

Unfortunately for them (and to some extent us) whilst they sink into economic decline and military over-extension those nations deemed as foes are quietly acquiring economic prosperity and political clout.

New World Order? We are watching it emerge live on CNN...
  11. So, already there is the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRSE) and the NATO Response Force (NRF) - but this is not good enough apparently.

I know, I know. What the US has now "dreamed up" is a standing rapid response force. Problem is, such a thing doesn't exist lready because it's been decided as unfeasable politically. Most NATO member states have their own standing force - sometimes (SLE cough!; ready brigade 82ABN cough cough!!).

Once again, this is just more Washington politiking trying to drag European states into their foreign policy misadventures.
  12. Well, if that happens..........WW3
  13. Do you really think Max Moseley and his frauleins are up to that sort of thing?

  14. So can we get back to going on the pish in Germany rather than fighting a bunch of religious maniacs? Cool! I've been waiting for that for 15 years!
  15. Ops planning to be based on the predictions of Vanga, now considered high grade intelligence:

2008 - Assassination attempts on four heads of states. Conflict in Indonesia. That becomes one of the causes for the start of WWIII.

2010 - The start of WWIII. The war will begin in November of 2010 and will end in October of 2014. Will start as a normal war, then will include usage of nuclear and chemical weapons.

2011 - Due to the radioactive showers in Northern Hemisphere - no animals or plants will be left. Muslims will begin chemical war against Europeans who are still alive.

2014 - Most of the people in this world will have skin cancer and skin related diseases. (as a result of chemical wars).

2016 - Europe is almost empty

2018 - China becomes the new world power.

    2023 - Earth’s orbit will change slightly

2025 - Europe is still barely populated

2028 - Development of a new energy source. (Probably controller thermonuclear reaction) Hunger slowly stops being a problem. Piloted spaceship to Venus deploys.

2033 - Polar ice caps melt. World ocean levels rise.

2043 - World economy is prosperous. Muslims are running Europe.

2046 - Any organs can be mass produced. Exchange of body organs becomes the favorite method of treatment.

2066 - During it’s attack on Rome (which is under control of the Muslims) U.S.A. uses a new method of weapons - has to do with climate change. Sharp freezing.
