Nato kicks off Georgia exercises:

Is this really a wise move?

Medvedev calls it "an overt provocation" - he is making political hay, but probably we would see it that way too if the shoe was on the other foot....

Last week Georgia put down a mutiny by it own soldiers - which could make red and blue force choice interesting....

Do we really want President Mikhail Saakashvili on our side?

Anyone know which NATO countries in taking part, any Brits?

Exercises will be held in Vaziani military base, twenty kilometers east of Tbilisi, with participation of about 1,300 personnel from nineteen NATO and partner countries: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Serbia, Spain, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the United States.
