Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Interesting to see that the following is given as a 'tier 2 threat':

"Risk of major instability, insurgency or civil war overseas which creates an environment that terrorists can exploit to threaten the UK"

To mind mind, the above describes our current highest priority - i.e. Operations in Afghanistan.

Does this mean scaling back on our 'Wog Slapping' (to coin a Whitecity-ism :)) ambitions, in favour of a more in the way of homeland defence?
  2. Wonder how this document will justify the expenditure on the cosy world of the tourist attractions based in London?
  3. Think that old Scottish saying just about sums it up. Vast amounts of verbiage and very little said. Worse still the assessments are flawed and contradictory. One minute major military crisis is up there swinging with the big risks and the next its disappeared and we are just playing Ally Q and his 40 thieves.
