Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. A World record attempt is being held in Scarborough in June, on Armed Forces Day.
There will be displays of Wellingtons Peninsula battles in 25-28mm scale.

Anybody else care to admit to playing with "model" Napoleonic soldiers ?

  2. Not only with Napoleonic figures (6mm & 15mm) but also fantasy ones with Warhammer as well.

  3. If you get the chance, the Siborne Model at the National Army Museum next to the Chelsea Hospital is well worth a visit. Plus it is a good museum, and it's free!

  4. Maybe...

Plenty more people do than many suspect!

  5. Mike Myers who plays 'Austin Powers' paints Napoleonic figures to wind down when filming. He gets a bunch done then hands them over to a relatives son.

Reference the Siborne Model, the book 'Wellingtons Smallest Victory' by Peter Hofschroer is a good read and enlightening if you are sceptical about some supposed 'facts' about Waterloo.
