Mystery Mitts

#1
Old habits die hard - especially when it comes to spotting odd kit lying about. As I now work in a civvy office environment I was somewhat surprised to find a pair of issue mittens lying on someone's desk. These are not the usual Arctic ski mitts and have a more 'industrial' look about them. They also have a curious inflatable collar. A 22C item they're most likely to be crab, so my initial assumption of them being Cox'n's mitts was replaced by that of them possibly being LOXing mitts. Or not? Ideas?

BuckFelize,

MJDI shows Mitts MK4 LH as 22C 1278207 and Mitts MK4 RH as 22C 1278208. I don't have many more details but they are "Flying Clothing".

The last plane with controls that allowed the use of Mitts was probably a Sopwith Camel..... :)

There used to be a pair of mitts in the Pilots winter survival pack, they were a sort blue/gray, a bit like the ones Helly Hanson do now
