Can't beat a bit of sneaker pimps.

Used to have a cat that was into trip-hop.

She used to sit on my radio and sway if I put Portishead on too.

Too much catnip probably, druggy student moggy that she was.

This is good for kicking off an evening of chilaxing

Forget all of the above. Just play this over and over again.

King Curtis - A Whiter Shade of Pale - HD - YouTube

King Curtis. A Whiter Shade of Pale. Live at Fillmore West. 5 March 1971.

If there is a finer piece of music to listen to while sitting on your own getting pissed, I haven't heard it.

Can't recommend it for getting stoned as I've never tried smoking Satan's pubes but this very song plays during the intro to the film Withnail and I while, err, I appears to be chilling out with a spliff. Later in the film there is some drinking of lighter fuel so, if you run out of rum ...

Not normally my thing, but that's not bad at all. May look into it further  Kudos to the cat - can't beat catnip =)

Undecided about the version, but that is some fecking sax :)

I'd normally go for PF for the getting slowly pissed (not smoking... obviously) evening, but that's nice and mellow...

Yeah she was a funny cat.

Portishead-Sour Times - YouTube

Sour Times always soothed the tabby tiger that she was.

For slowly unwinding the excellent "Numb" by Honey Ryder is most rewarding.

This is the official video

Honey Ryder 'Numb' Official Video - YouTube

However some cunning person produced a version of the song set to bits of Casino Royale which is absolutely brilliant

And this is one of my all time favourites. Lots of personal significance courtesy of a drunken telephone conversation once, but I suppose we can all relate it to a moment in our lives

I prescribe the Allman Brothers Band "You Don't Love Me / Soul Serenade"
"I drink alone" George Thorogood
"Beautiful Dub" Tapa Zukie
"Song Away" Hockey
"Party Up" DMX
"That's how I'm Livin'" Ice T
"Orion" Metallica
"Black Rose" Thin Lizzy
"Edged in Blue" Rory Gallagher
"Mr Brownstone" Guns n' Roses
"Fugazi" Marillion
"Sultans of Swing" (Live version)
"Quadrophenia" (the whole damn thing, the '73 original, not the film soundtrack) The Who

Served with a bottle of Wray & Nephew & a big bottle of coke OR a bottle of Bundaberg & plenty of Jamaican ginger beer

I think I may have been over exposed to Dire Straits when they came onto the scene... apart from that, that is one helluva line up :headbang:

Take your rum, your stereo and a couple of Johnny Cash CDs and lock yourself in a dark room.

You'll thank me later.
