MSR Pocket Rocket Stove Question

Discussion in 'Weapons, Equipment & Rations' started by sixty_three, Aug 2, 2010.

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Is it ok to use Coleman cannisters with the MSR Pocket Rocket Stove as I have heard you can only use the MSR Cannisters ?
  2. I use coleman and there fine
  3. I use any make as London as the drew valve fits properly
  4. I think they are all pretty much compatible with the exception of the Camping Gaz ones. Beware of some Coleman cartridges though as I once had a problem with them not working with my Vaude Markill.... apparently they had been manufactured with the valve spigot pin too short so it wasn't opened when you screwed the stove on. I think they are OK now, but just a heads up.
  5. Thanks fellas
  6. I would expect Coleman works fine, I have an MSR stove (one up from Pocket Rocket, firefly I think it's called), they do work.

However, I recommend MSR gas. It burns hotter and cleaner than Coleman.
