MR. Geoffrey Boothroyd and his "divergent boring"

Just dugout a couple of issues of Jan A Stevenson's Handgunner (Britain's Foremost Firearms Journal)
In Dec.1989 a Boothroyd article on the chambering of his Colt SA in .455 compared to his Colt in .450 boxer.

A letter from Colt, thirty years before the write up (1950's), "all chambers are bored in parallel".
His .455 left the factory in 1891, so may not have been.
Quirky stuff but maybe still interesting and worth a read.

I am sure I read about United States Fire-Arms bring out a .455 Eley Colt SA, I wonder what they did.?

Halcyon days.
