Mps expenses totals for 2008

I've always wondered why the UK has so many MPs. The Septics have got 435 folks in the House of Representatives and another 100 in the Senate. That's one representative for roughly 570,000 Septics with a population of around 304 million.

The Boxheeds have 612 MPs (MdB) with each one representing about 135,000 folks with an approximate population of 83 million.

The UK has 659 MPs and a population of around 61 million, meaning each MP represents (nominally) about 93,000 folks. At a ratio like that, there should be no real problem with the inhabitants getting their voices heard. So what's going wrong?

Also, I'd love to know what the sum of all those figures is.

Interesting to see Adams and McGuinness on the list.

They will not take their seats in the Commons but they are not too proud to claim expenses from us.

This shows me exactly what a pair of fucking hypocrites they both are.

Why on earth is this allowed to happen?

Righto, I've done some maths, and translated this lot back into the original Xcel it came from.

The AVERAGE amounts claimed for the following are:

£17,960.00 - Staying Away from home.
£219.00 - London Supplement
£17,813.68 - Running costs of an office
£85,872.10 - Employing family, friends and pets.
£893.65 - Buying Commons Stationery
£2,611.89 - Postage
£1,199.13 - I.T.
£650.28 - Other Costs (Porn, that sort of thing)
£7,323.80 - Comms and stuff - denying wrongdoing over the phone.

The total cost for each to us, the taxpayer as follows:

£11,584,454 - Staying Away from home.
£138,812 - London Supplement
£11,469,647.00 - Running costs of an office
£55,297,177.00 - Employing family, friends and pets.
£574,886.00 - Buying Commons Stationery (when they aren't stealing it)
£1,680,766.00 - Postage
£772,087.00 - I.T.
£417,528.00 - Other Costs (Porn, that sort of thing)
£4,715,902.00 - Comms and stuff - denying wrongdoing over the phone.

AVERAGE amount overall of each MP in expenses claims alone:

£134,544.50

Total Cost to the taxpayer of MP Expense Claims:

£86,651,259.00 - that's the expense claims for only 650 people folks.

Total amount audited to ensure legal entitlement to expenses:

£0.00

Why not compare the cost of 650 MPs to the T&S claims of your average infantry bn with 650ish people?

I suspect a significant difference will be seen...

Mine costs us aroud £133k in expenses, plus wages. £200 grand a year for a useless waste of space.
Fooking leeches, the lot of them.

'Biped' - brilliant post.

No wonder the bent bunch of dishonest 'spivs' have voted to keep their 'free troughing - expenses' a secret.

Why did these awful discredited 'thieves' sack, dismiss, get rid of Dame Elizabeth Filkin? Silly question! She was getting to the trough - sorry, truth. (Appointed to root out corruption and theft).

Despite 'Stalin' Brown's fatuous letter today to the 'Standards Committee' - a toothless and worthless quango (appointed by 'Stalin') - nothing will change until some of the 'thieves' - Mr and Mrs Keen for starters? (£313,714 banked PLUS salaries PLUS travel) - are imprisoned!!! I do mean PRISON!

West Cornwall, Mr Andrew George, £153,048 on expenses plus christ knows what his wages are. In total its got to be close to £210, 000. Not far off a quarter of a million a year.

Bliar still managed to claim £63,412 for effectively two months of 'work'*.

* Report covers April 07 - Mar 08. Blair left the House in June 07. It doesn't include his Prime Ministerial budget which is not included in the report.

At what point will these fuckers be accountable and audited by an independent organisation?

I would mind too much if we had a properly run and efficient country to show for it but it reads like a Mafia crime syndicates annual turnover sheet.

I don't know what military allowances are nowadays but can anyone estimate what claim a Tom would need to submit to be as equally over subsidised to the equivalent tune of £134k? (For example claiming MMA for a 200 mile round trip from the singlies block to the cookhouse, claiming his/her bivvy as as second home etc.).

What makes this worse is not one MP has ever flagged this up.

Are these the same "ARRSE HOLES" that send us to war? While they live it up with luxury goods, all claimed as expences to the tax payer :!: proving once again that most MPs are liers, greedy pigs, and con artists.
