MPGS

Can anybody tell me, when employed by the MPGS and you work 4 days on 4 days off. If you take leave during your 4 days on to then have 12 off in a row, how many days should come off your leave card? Sorry to ask but getting conflicting answers. Many thanks.

Depends what leave policy your site is running, MPGS HQ will state that there is only 1 policy(yeh right) and that is in order to take a set of 4 days off, it will cost 6 days leave, the extra 2 days come from the fictional training days that have been missed.
Lots of sites still employ the old system of 4 days leave for 12 days off which was much fairer considering that bank holidays and weekends are worked all year.
Not much you can do about what system your site commander employs, its down to him but you can inform him that some of the other sites are still using the old system with MPGS HQs full knowledge.

Good luck getting him to change his mind.

Was just thinking on a parallel line. Wouldn't the worry be that if you take your 4 duty days off but don't ask for the days either side, you run the risk of being called in , in the event of unforeseen circumstances, to cover others?Thereby buggering up your well thought out plan
