Just watched "Three Blind Mice" http://www.infilm.com.au/?p=346 on Austar. It must be the most poorly researched movie about the forces ever. It is about three RAN blokes on the turps in Sydney. However, the research about the RAN is p*ss poor; You would think that someone who is doing a movie about the Navy would at least do some research especially about the uniforms and rank structure. Firstly one bloke comes in wearing a lieutenant Commander's shirt and is then seen in a sublieutenants jacket. Second bloke comes in wearing a Leading seaman's uniform and is then in a sublieutenants uniform and is later talking about being promoted to petty officer while wearing a Chief Petty Officers rank insignia on his shirt. Third bloke is wearing a wierd rank insignia (1 thick and 1 thin) that doesn't exist in the Navy. Their gong ribbons are also being worn on the wrong side. Utter crap! Any other examples to avoid?
