More amnesty on the way ?

Seems like a compromise is being floated to see if gets traction: no more prosecutions of ex-servicemen in exchange for stopping historical prosecutions for atrocities on the UK mainland.

Justice delayed or settling of old scores? The line about truth and reconciliation commissions may be a more high-minded approach, but it won't work with the 'not enough to win, the other side has to lose' mindset on both sides of the divide.

It smacks of Hobson's choice for me: take this or suffer more restrospective prosecutions.
