Montane Superfly Jacket

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I'm after a new Outdoor jacket and was looking at the Montane Superfly E-Vent. has anyone had any experience with this jacket?.... If so, opinions please.
  2. Got the Superfly XT which has slightly thicker fabric in some areas..
I've had a few waterproofs over the years and this is probably the best.
E-vent out performs Gore-tex for breathability, but needs to be kept clean to work at its best.
I am a big sweaty mess on the hill, and had thought that the fabric hadn't been made that could cope with the amount of liquid I produce. This comes very close.
There is some suggestion that e-vent may not be as hard wearing, but I haven't had mine long, so can't comment on that.

We use Montane kit at work because its good stuff.
I also know a lot of people involved in Mountain Rescue that use it, myself included.
