Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Any idea why some Rgt's are asking for the MOD 90's to be handed back in ? . Do they think that the troops are still children ? or do they just want the troops to stop getting discounts at Burger King ect.

  2. Is it their way of checking that the individual is still in possession of their MOD90?

I know that at Sqn level MOD90 "should" be checked regularly on Muster parades, but do the RHQs believe that this takes place?

    Edited to add extra para

  3. Permanet thing or is it just for a doc's check :?

  4. Perm, on W/ends they are supposed to be signed out then back in again at the end of the W/end. Problem being if there is no one to sign them out and the troops need to get scoff at the local Mil Est mess they are stuffed.

  5. Not in my Regt, we must be grown ups :D

  6. Must be piling on the pounds as well with all the cheap forces discount Burger Kings...

  7. :D :D :D

  8. Some go on exercise or courses with other units often enough to make going via one's TAC (and hoping there is someone there to sign it out to you) rather a pain. And if that's not possible for any reason? Good luck getting past the gate where ever you're going.

  9. Not to mention if you are part of a specialist unit.

If you were going on a course you might have to do a 200 mile round trip to get your id first!

  10. ha ha isn't that only when in uniform at moto service stations :?

BTW, off topic.... planning a family hol to Florida, anyone know if Mod 90 works any places there? Heard something about Disney?

    Cheers BB

  14. I reackon that some Tourist attractions over here should do a similar thing . If the yanks can do it for us why cant the theme parks here do it .
Unless you belong to a certain Signal Regt.

  15. Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
