mnemonics

  1. anyone out there know what the mnemonic

    PACESDO stands for?? I think its got something to do with fieldcraft but being as i am an Engineer i havent got a scooby doo!!
     
  2. Its ReOrg drills (with 2x S in)

    P =Protection
    A=Ammunition
    C=Casaulties
    E=Equipment
    S=Searchers
    S=Sit rep
    D=dig in
    O=orders

  4. It's mnemonic - from the greek word mnemos (to remember). Honest!
     
  5. thank you very much for that and a big well done for spotting my obvious spelling/grammatical error, the pneumonic i referrred to is of course associated with pneumonia.
     
  6. Hmmm. Probably out of date now, but I was taught PASSWWORD as the section cdr's aide memoir for the Reorg -

    P-protection (rfn sentry 25m into dir of enemy threat)
    A-ammunition stake (by 2ic)
    S-searchers (all round clearance/ en dead)
    S-shellscrapes
    W-weapons check (sec cdr/ 2ic)
    W-wounded
    O-orders (for next move)
    R-recovery (of gun/ fire-support group)
    D-direction (of next axis of advance)
     
  7. thats great anyone know any other good mnemonics. ive got a bit of a battle going on with my ssm, hes in front by two as it stands. so come on people give all those mnemonics, theres beer and pride at stake
