Ministers float border force plan

#1
"Plans for a new police border force are to be floated by the government", says the BBC, "It comes just months after the UK Border Agency was launched, comprised of officers from the Border and Immigration Agency, HM Revenue and Customs". Apparently ACPO came up with this one. Do you think they've realised there's a problem?

I bet the new force (strangely not a 'service') is as culturally and ethnically diverse as possible, in order to demonstrate that we're not in the least bit 'xenophobic', oh no. We don't mind the occasional Middle Eastern jihadi at all, so long as they explode in a culturally sensitive way. American cooks and other serious criminals are bad news though.

BBC reported said:
Borders policing body begins work (Thursday, 3 April 2008)

"The UK's new border agency has been officially launched - but ministers say further legislation is needed in the autumn before it is fully operational.

The UK Border Agency (UKBA) will eventually merge the work of 25,000 immigration, revenue and customs and visa staff in 135 countries.

Initially about 1,000 frontline staff in England and Wales will be given enhanced "police-like" powers.

The Tories and Lib Dems dismiss the change as a re-branding exercise.

The Home Office says the UKBA will be the "eyes and ears" of the police at the border, with a "wide range" of powers.

Its officers, who will be drawn from the Border and Immigration Agency, HM Revenue and Customs and UK visas, will work to combat smuggling, immigration crime and border tax fraud
".

They really do need to get clear in their own heads, the differentiation between "the UK", and “England & Wales”; and where each ends, and the other begins. Or is that too much to expect of our Government?

Ministers float border force plan (Monday, 23 June 2008)

"Plans for a new police border force are to be floated by the government, it has been revealed.

Home Secretary Jacqui Smith made the admission in a 16-page response to a report by Lord Carlile, the independent reviewer of UK terrorism legislation.

The proposal for a 3,000 strong force, put forward by the Association of Chief Police Officers (Acpo), will be in a police reform Green Paper.

The Conservatives accused the government of "playing catch-up".

A Home Office spokeswoman said they wanted to use the Green Paper "to invite wider views".

The proposed border force would include uniformed officers and officers from Special Branch.

It comes just months after the UK Border Agency was launched - comprised of officers from the Border and Immigration Agency, HM Revenue and Customs and UK visas

They STILL really do need to get clear in their own heads, the differentiation between "the UK", and “England & Wales”; and where each ends, and the other begins. Three months later, is that STILL can not tell the difference !

CCRF, what's that?

There's little point in this, considering they will employ immigrants to do the job anyway. Going through passport control at Stansted is very similar to Lagos nowadays.

I allways thought thats what the Immigration agency was there for, silly me.

The UKBA merges the work of 25,000 staff based in 135 countries, who previously operated in the Border and Immigration Agency, HM Revenue and Customs and UK Visas.

Ms Smith will unveil a new logo for the agency, which is geared up to combating smuggling, immigration crime and border tax fraud.
Ahh now I see, as PTP says, it's just rebranding and pretending to actually do something rather than a real change. As usual all spin and no substance.

Graunaid article.

The borders have been disregarded by this government who have allowed every Pasha, Achmed and Soraya from around the world to come to live here and claim benefits.
So how would a border police benefit us now? It's too late- we're full of foreigners.
The only reason then that they would have this 'police like' border force would be to control the movements of Britain's indiginous people.
