Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Thanks for the link.

  2. You're welcome - it's not bad, is it!

  3. "Field Marshal Sir Douglas Haig: World War I's Worst General", etc....

some scholarly masterpieces amongst the articles..... a few I skimmed through are very much of the Stephen Ambrose ilk.

  4. Which in YHO is bad...right?? 8O

  5. Never had a problem with Ambrose myself, I liked the job he did on the Ox & Bucks at Pegasus Bridge. A neigbour I had a few years ago who had parachuted into Normandy back in '44 read it as well and said he thought it was good, and as he was there (with 13 Para I seem to recall, but doubtless someone will now tell me 13 Para were actually in Burmah or commanded by Caubeen or something), it must have been to a standard. :)
