Military Engineer Driver Regiments?

Hello there.
I have recently applied for the british army, my first choice was logistic driver however I received a call stating that my first choice role was full, so instead I've been put forward for military engineer driver (a much better choice as you learn a wider range of things instead of just a driver)
Unfortunately I can't find certain regiments that have engineer drivers, it would be great if I could get some more info just on what Regiments I could join.
Thankyou

No worries. Depending on what regiment and Sqn you go to depends on what you'll do. Some Squadrons embed the drivers in the field troops if they are a wheeled unit (such as 36 and 39) but if you go to an armoured or mechanised unit you will be in a support troop.
For specialisation you can do Tank Bridge Transporter (if you are in an armoured Squadron), Automatic Bridge Launching Equipment (ABLE) if you are in an headquarters squadron, crane operator (any Squadron) or plant transporter (can be any squadron but generally HQ squadrons). For plant transport the decision has been made to ditch the old Seddon Atkinson's and go with the Oshkosh so there's going to be new vehicle rolling out soon.

HWC95 - I can assure you that in a few years you will thank God that your first choice was full!

Yes, who wants to be in the RLC? Far more opportunities to specialise in the Engineers.

Do YOU think it is a better choice for you, or have you been told it is?

Have a look around at all the options again, taking out e ones that are denied to you for what ever reason.

It is YOUR life, not the recruiters 'stats', that matter.

I don't think you could find a UK firm that manufactures plant transporters any more. Besides, I think it's the same model that's used for transporting heavy armour around so I can see the sense in equipment commonality for spares and training.
