Microsoft Windows aboard Royal Navy submarines

  3. Isn't it a bit dangerous to install windows on a submarine? I mean they don't even have portholes do they?

  6. non story - what OS do you expect them to run JPA and Office on?
  7. Considering every other computer in the MoD uses Windows as it's OS.

    Would trailing a big long broadband lead not give them away :? And fish would trip over it.

    Has this been thought through.

  13. As someone who has been involved on design for the Astute trainers for the last few years, I can assure you (without breaking opsec) that nothing that controls anything runs on Windows.
