Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. What is the deal with NRPS WO/SNCO's for Mess Bills. The unit is a lodger unit in a Regular Camp.
  2. I would assume you pay them, do you attend Mess Meetings/functions?
  3. Per QR's SNCO/WO's don't have to belong to a Mess, only officers do. If you elect to join a mess you can only be a member of one mess. I suppose if you attend the odd do then you could pay up as a guest
  4. I think you'll find you're wrong there, but I stand to be corrected. QR's reference please?
  5. Wrong:

    5.747. Membership

Every warrant officer and staff or other sergeant is to be a member of the sergeants'mess of his unit, and a single member may be a dining member. Membership is optional for those holding the local rank of sergeant.

Warrant officers and senior NCOs attached from other units are to be temporary members of the sergeants'messof the unit to which they are attached. Members of the AGC (RMP), AGC (MPS) and INT CORPS may be exempted from such membership when on detached duty.
