MERS Coronavirus warning

I liked watching Les, I'd love to meet him. The bloody hat always got me.
If you ever do, make sure you have a bottle of Bundy to hand.

Like his TV persona, his nose and his beer gut, his hat grew over time.

WHO are now advising people to, (and get this), AVIOD having unprotected sex with wild and/or domestic animals!!!!......WTF?
No they aren't. Someone has changed the official poster from "unprotected contact" to unprotected sex".

As usual the adultarated version has gone viral. (boom boom)

As postulated earlier on the thread, converted buildings are quicker to set up as hospitals than building pre-fabs.

'China has opened its first coronavirus hospital after around 500 workers and volunteers spent just 48 hours converting an empty building.

'Two pop-up hospitals are currently being built from scratch to treat patients with the SARS-like virus that has killed more than 130 people in the country. The first hospital, called the Dabie Mountain Regional Medical Centre, opened with 1,000 beds in a disused building in Huanggang on Tuesday night.

'It is expected to relieve some of the pressure on doctors and nurses in Hubei province - the epicentre of the outbreak - where overwhelmed hospitals were running out of beds, masks and other supplies as they were inundated with patients.'

When did they really "start" on that first hospital, if it is indeed the one shown in the video? I don't for one minute believe it only took 48 hours to put in all the specialist electrics and air lines, not with inexperienced and unqualified "voluntolds".

As most folk reading posts on this topic will be aware there is a Computer game that has been around for quite a while called 'Plague Inc'.

More clued up gamers will tell me but I think it's from the same company that make a very popular dystopia game called The Fall (?)

Anyway, it seems that the game 'Plague Inc.' gives you various options to tailor your outbreak, to give it maximum chance of wiping out all human life on this little ball of gas and liquid. You win when everyone is dead.

There are now at least five bespoke scenarios on the game's server which model this particular real-life outbreak.

See if you can sit through this without wanting to track-down the guy running you through this particular scenario....

Someone mentioned Pulmonary Oedema ^ ?...hmmm, cheery screenshots like this are included:

Just read a story in the Wail so not going to link it about some Australian bird over in China claiming infected people are spitting in hospital staffs faces and on apartment block lift buttons .
I'm presuming that they must think if I'm going to die so can you .
That's if this story can be believed .

I know times were really hard in the past and protein is protein but modern industrialised China needs to get a grip on its food supplies (and yeah, I know it still has a huge rural population but it applies to them as well).

I saw a Saturday morning cooking programme once, filmed in China.

1. Chinese bloke says “we make mice wine”. English bloke says “I think you mean rice wine”. Chinese bloke says “No you kwailo bastard. We make mice wine” and shoves a dead mouse in a bottle of rice wine.

2. Then they showed you how to cook rat. Boil rats for a few hours. Hammer flat into a sort of cake shape and allow to dry. Slice into strips and stir fry.

And because dragons and tigers are relatively difficult to source Dragon and Tiger soup is made from snakes/lizards and cats.

FFS guys. Get your house in order and leave the wildlife in the, Errrh, wild.

Ironically Chinese is my favourite cuisine.

But the US rarely suffers outbreaks of bubonic plague (it has had some small ones) because they don’t eat all the ******* vermin they can get their hands on.

this is why I fundamentally distrust the French... they eat all manner of strange things.

WHO to reconvene committee tomorrow to decide whether to treat this as a pandemic. Or a thingyyawhatsit of international concern in their terms.

The head of the WHO seemed to have been sucked off by Xi.

Can't eat Chinese . Does't agree with me for some reason although I love Indian food and am also willing to try the local Filipino restaurant from time to time
Also have a Japanese take away not too far away but not tried that yet .

Meanwhile , back with the proper news, this being one of the serious parts of Arrse:

Even if the luckless Mr Siddle does get an airlift place, he will apparently be spending a couple of weeks in a British Detention Centre ...um..... quarantine facility/kennels.
