Medical failure - allergies and appeals

I recently failed my medical because of an "allergic reaction event" which happened a couple of years ago. At the time when I suffered my mild reaction (my lip swelled up) the doctors couldn't determine the exact cause. They asked me what I had ingested and the only thing I had prior was pineapple juice. The doctors said that it COULD be the cause but they weren't sure. However my medical forms apparently state that this was the cause and I have failed the medical because of this. I have had no reactions since this incident and I drink fruit and pineapple juice several times a week. I am planning on appealing the is case. I would like to know if other people have experience with this or been in a similar situation to me and their outcome of the appeal. If you have any advice I would really appreciate that too

Will you appeal after having undergone a full, possibly privately finder allergy test, or just wing it?
