Medical Expenses

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Just been told by my doctor (Germany) that if I want foot treatment then I'll have to pay 20 euros to see a podiatrist - per visit.

Can this expenditure be claimed back through JPA?
  2. Was it a military doctor telling you you need to go?

A fairly safe rule to work from with claims is, if you are TOLD / ORDERED to do something, you can claim.

If you are given a choice, probably not.
  3. Cheers.
    Was a mil Dr.
Gave me a choice of treatment so, as you say, will have to pay.
  4. You can claim it back on JPA under medical and dental, same process for eye test and prescription fees.
