Medal Mounting Servics?

Discussion in 'Military History and Militaria' started by bigsouth1981, Nov 16, 2005.

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I was speaking to my auntie before, she's 85 and sharp as a knife, in relation to having my great grandfathers first world war medals mounted, and or the possibility of buying minuatures. Does anyone know of a reliable place where I could have this done?

    Any help appreciated,

    Andy

  2. :) Yes I know of two, but they are in Australia.

  3. they will be about as usefull as tits on a fish, thanks all the same though!

  4. The tailors at arborfield do a good job of mounting medals. Don't know if they would have any ribbons dating back that far though.

    Bigs,

I asked about this on Saturday in a place in Salisbury - they charge £7 per medal either swing-mounted or Court mounted ( I confessed complete ignorance on what the differecnce is ...guy explained that 'court' mounted means flat on a piece of plastic).

If you don't get any joy with the place in Colchester , PM me.
