For those not aware, the Premier of NS resigned shortly after failing to prevent a Royal Commission from happening. Pure coincidence, I'm sure. Now the appointees are trying to make sure it's the usual whitewash, but if the victims' families walk out, that's a fail too.

It said nothing about rights from 1867 to 1982. The Constitution Act of 1982 says that rights and freedoms are subject to reasonable limits as prescribed by law and can be demonstrated as reasonable in a democratic society. Is that what you are referring to?

The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees the rights and freedoms set out in it subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society.

Rights are a mental construct. They are what people have agreed they are. They don't exist outside of that.

Rights are a mental construct. They are what people have agreed they are. They don't exist outside of that.

Your rights are a legal construct, protected by government( well not in your case). If they were a mental construct I could write them down a on a piece of double ply and ignore them. If we are using your example of “people” agreeing to them we can get a few members of this forum to come up with the Terminal Bill of Rights which you would be subject to.

Not for class three mate. If any place has Class three parts then they will be registered with the ATF and anything they sell, a copy of the sales receipt and a copy of the buyers class three permit goes to the ATF.

Hate to argue with you but, legally buyable with no paperwork. There is a slight difference between a civvy semi auto upper and a milspec/LEO upper that precludes a full-auto trigger pack fitting in standard configuration. If you are a cartel Sicario; 15 minutes with a dremel, or a hacksaw and file and the full-auto trigger pack will fit a civvy upper....then just change the bolt group and away you go.

Just the same way you, or I could go and buy full-auto spec bolt group, bolt, or barrel for an UZI, or AK. All the pieces to build a full-auto UZI are available - supply chain allowing, bit dodgy at the moment. It is up to the individual to make sure that they adhere to the letter of the law by only assembling their box of UZI parts as a semi-auto UZI.

Even buying that lower in the link you posted, still going to need an ATF class three permit to buy it.

There is no such thing as a Class 3 permit for civvy shooters. As a civvy shooter you either have your tax stamp from the ATF, or you don't. The various Class 3 permits are for dealers, and manufacturers, they are commercial use licences only.

Your natural "rights" extend to breathing, eating, drinking and sleeping. If they are infringed or denied you then your natural right is to die.

You alleged right to bear arms is a legal permission set down by whoever was in charge at the time. Every state and federal law is the same thing, put in place by whoever was in charge. The constitution etc are documents which set out a set of laws decided by man and implemented by man. End of.

Society should deal with it's transgresser any way society pleases, but society sets laws for that hence my previous comment about accountability for stepping over the line. Society can also deal with the likes of Ramos in other ways, by not letting it get to a state where he breaks the law, pre-hazard mitigation to reduce the likelihood of the hazard occuring rather then post-hazard mitigation to reduce the severity of the hazard. In this case the "hazard" was Ramos deciding that expending ammunition was the best way to go.

You can police your fellow citizens by setting a good example of behaviour, engaging in conversation and resolving differences through peaceful means, bit difficult to do if you are toting a sidearm and express a willingness to use it!

Then the rules have changed since I left LE. Above was the way it was done, in fact at the time every full auto trigger had to be numbered as well.

I have not and never disputed that criminals could turn a a semi auto to full auto, I merely pointed out that even just trying to do so is a Federal offence.

They tried to prosecute his first victim, didn't they, his repeat domestic violence victim who managed to escape being burned alive by hiding in the woods before he started his killing spree.

I looked it up on Canada's CBC News, an outlet with Warnings on every page that the reader's feelings may be hurt.

The language here is the same as that appearing in 'progressive anti-bullying processes' in schools, ie, treat immature mind's no differently from fully developed one's, policies that then blame the victim's subsequent self-harming as being the parent's fault.

Why is it the Miller Nix's always decline offers to spend working days with the police where they can attend domestic violence calls and have a roll around and a serious spank from a violent bully-who-is-a-victim?
