Married quarters question

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I was told if your phase 2 training is longer than 6 months you can get married quarters instead of waiting until you pass all your training and then moving in. Can anyone shed any light on this?
  2. Submit your 1132 and find out for yourself?
  3. You can. It's always fun watching Phase 2s march into their quarter with "the love of their life" and place bets on how long it'll be before they're moving out again.

The record in Blandford when I was there was six weeks...
  4. Because they couldnt hack it together or because the quarters were shite?
  5. Because they'd known each other for the twelve weeks of basic.

Quarters range from shite to very nice. Depends where you're going.
  6. Haha awesome. Final question(s) im hoping to join as a metalsmith. Any idea on the quality there?

Also i would be able to move in at the start of phase 2... Not after 6 months right?

Sorry for all the questions. Cheers for your help.
  7. No idea, that's a REME trade and I'm Royal Signals. Completely different camps.

Not sure on the rules for it, I was single on my Class Three course and got my first house when I was in the Field Army where you get one as soon as you're married. The best bet is to speak to your troop staff when you get to Basic and ask their advice.
  8. No problem ill talk to the recruiting staff tomorrow. Thanks mate
