Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Greetings all,
Have a fastball as I may have a posting to Glasgow and wondered what the OR's Married Quarters are like.

Currently in Upavon which is the Land that Time Forgot and I am trying to get out.

This is pretty urgent as I have to give an answer within a couple of days!

    Help please!
  2. Watch Rab C Nesbitt a reality programme from the BBC.
  3. Anything is better than Upavon MQs!

Glasgow ones are not all in one place and some are quite modern.

Go for it. It is a great city to live in.
  4. Surely you are not using the standard of quartering to base your decision as to whether or not you accept a posting are you? What about career profile, job satisfaction, progression etc If I turned down every job I have been offered based on the quartering available I would be at an even lower rank than I am now!!
  5. MQ's are OK standard wise but some sort of Sangar may well be in order and an anti stab vest would also be useful.

Failing that purchase one of those Ginger wigs, affect a strange accent and dribble porrige everywhere when you eat.
  6. My old PSI had a flat in the south side of Glasgow which the army paid for n i know a few regular officers who are attached to our HQ have flats in GLagow that the qmry are paying for, apart from that i dont know about MQ's.

What unit you going to get attached to? Where abouts in Glasgow.
