  1. Hi , i am Ex Coldstream Guards and i am looking to do the Marathon Des Sables in Morroco in the Sahara , for Help for Heroes and Great Ormond Street Hospital Charities.
    I am not too sure how to go about the getting sponsors etc , so i would greatly appreciate it if anyone could point me in the right direction.

  2. I found facebook is a great way to get funds, sign yourself up and advertise your page. set up a page on http://www.justgiving.com/ as well, email everyone in your address book, but do that in blocks, I.e family then work colleagues etc etc, good luck!

  4. Have you got a place yet CC? The entries usually fill up a couple of years in advance. I did the race for the ABF in 2001, and I've got a place for next year, feel free to PM me if you want more info.
     
  5. How much did you have to pay to enter the race Troopie? I've heard it's quite expensive.
     
  6. I can't remember the exact figure off the top of my head, but it's around £2500. That includes flights, accommodation, race entry, tent, water and medical support. The website for UK/Irish/South African and Israeli competitors to enter is www.saharamarathon.co.uk
