Maoists kill 73 police in ambush

Maoists in India have killed 73 members of the Central Reserve Police Force and others, according to the Times of India - report here

If I have read the report correctly, they were on their way back from a route clearance operation when a truck hit a mine, and the ambush was sprung. It must have been quite a fight to end up with a WW2 scale casualty list.

I like their badge. The unit was originally set up by the British (according to Wikipedia ) as the Crown Representative's Police, a much nicer sounding name to my old ear.

suspected to have been carried out by about 1000 Naxals
73 Vs 1000? Very bad odds, poor bleeders.
