Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Maoists in India have killed 73 members of the Central Reserve Police Force and others, according to the Times of India - report here http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/73-security-personnel-killed-in-Maoist-ambush/articleshow/5765722.cms

If I have read the report correctly, they were on their way back from a route clearance operation when a truck hit a mine, and the ambush was sprung. It must have been quite a fight to end up with a WW2 scale casualty list.

    RIP.

I like their badge. The unit was originally set up by the British (according to Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_Reserve_Police_Force ) as the Crown Representative's Police, a much nicer sounding name to my old ear.

  2. 73 Vs 1000? Very bad odds, poor bleeders.

  3. Could use them lot over here. Nice one.
