Man Down

Evening All,

One of the lads has broken his neck in Thailand and is paralysed from the neck down. Long story short, I'm trying to get him medically repatriated to the UK where he might have a chance of survival.

Please have a look at the link to JustGiving, share it, cast the net wide and help reach the largest audience possible.

Thanks in advance! https://www.justgiving.com/Andy-Nor...m_content=Andy-Norris1&utm_campaign=pfp-share

I wondered that, but the other link does support it, and it seems too well established to be put together for the purposes of scamming.

Maybe Im wrong ....quite a rare occurrence , perhaps the OP should have been more open and maybe if a lawyer held the funds until the target was reached it would have some credibility.

is it too early to ask the OP if this thread is going the way he'd hoped?

Why does he need a plane "home" he is home. He no longer lives in this country.

Should have bought insurance.

I agree, but there's not much point discussing it now. It's a bit like watching someone drown and criticising them for having entered the water without a lifejacket.

I'm sure the bloke wishes he'd done things differently. Bottom line is he's in the shit and could use some help.

Tragic etc, but why is he looking for support from the country he abandoned to improve his standard of living? This is why you need to research exactly what you are letting yourself in for and plan accordingly. If he had medical insurance he would be sorted. But after a lifetime of not having to think about it he overlooked or ignored the need for it.

Agree that he should have had insurance, but he didn't 'abandon' this country. He paid taxes for a long time and served in the Army and Police.

Also, it appears to be his mates trying to get him out of the situation.
