Perfectly normal to arrest the car driver to gather evidence which should either be sufficient to charge or release.

The test will be were his actions reasonable (and proportionate) in the circumstances.

Taught my daughter to use keys as a bit of self-defence.
She went on to study martial arts but still keeps that as part of her repertoire.

I tried that with a taxi driver trying to run me over for not paying his made up fare, they bounced off his windscreen never to been seen again, it cost me a fortune to replace them.

Just brighter and longer lasting - like 18 days longer!

I just converted my old ones using something similar to this (but not this one)

now Mrs Phantom and I both have an easy to find torch in the door pocket of our cars. Next converting them to rechargeable LI-ion batteries

I did this too for a couple of mine - although I still don't rate the MagLites for brightness compared to my others like Olights that kick out >1000Lumen.

The MagLites are bullet-proof and some of mine are older than my kids, but even with the LED upgrade they now give off a nice cool white glow but still not very bright.

Like you do though - we all carry a trusty MagLite in our cars.

An arrest warrant had been issued at the start of January for a man killed when he was hit by the driver of a car who was apparently trying to stop him stabbing his ex-wife.
Leon McCaskre, 41, was run over after killing Yasmin Chkaifi, 43, in Maida Vale, west London, on Monday.
The warrant, saying he should be held without bail, was issued on 4 January after he failed to appear in court.
McCaskre was accused of breaching an interim stalking protection order.

I'm sure there must be more going back a bit . He does seem or did seem a bit of a wrong un .

Interestingly my son entered the Mongol Rally, he went from Goodwood to Ulan Bhattor (sp) some 10,000 miles, in a Nisan Micra, he won the event. He had one puncture and the major mechanical malfunction was that the radio rattled out of its location, this was rectified by jamming it in with an empty coke bottle.

I saw it reported that the stabber was flattened by a Renault Clio, which would seem to be much more fitting, one wouldn't want to damage a Micra.

You would see them cruise up past the queue and the folk behind scowl, I would ignore them and you could read their minds "Ha....this will be easy, just some old twat in a Micra".

Once the lights had changed the other way, I was in gear and then redline it and side slip off clutch and the little fecker would screech off and wheel spin into second, most un granny like!

The twats who had been caught out were then marooned in the wrong lane with everyone behind grinning and not letting them in as they drove past.

Little things and little minds I know......

Only had it a couple of years, but when I borrowed it I always gave it a good thrapping as like a little Fiat it loved the revs.

The little jelly bean-shaped ones were excellent. I used to use the 1-litre for the commute (there was no sense to a bigger car) and it was a lovely drive.

And they were/are solid. It's not wonder there are many still around.

We have a 4 door smart as our runabout, its so quick off the line I can scare myself sometimes!
