Maggie just keeps giving.

The planned unveiling of a statue of Margaret Thatcher on the Falkland Islands has sparked a furious new row between Britain and Argentina.

The bronze sculpture of the Prime Minister whose forces freed the islanders after the 1982 invasion will be unveiled in the capital Stanley next month.

But Argentina's ambassador to London, Alicia Castro, has condemned the statue 'in our Malvinas Islands' as a provocative move, saying: 'What the UK is doing is celebrating war.'

It's a bust, not the Lighthouse of Alexandria.

Non-story for those who aren't dribbling, botox faced loons with shady German ancestry.

This is the same dozy mare upon meeting the Pope handed over a book "Malvinas Matters" the good news is that CFK has a broken ankle after a domestic accident, hope that's painful.

You have to love Argentina, it's always the British inciting Argentina and bragging about the war, yet they're the ones who bring up the ownership constantly to everyone who (won't) listen. Despite something like 99% of the island inhabitants wanting to be British, they refuse to acknowledge the vote.

Anything that can wind up the Argies is good enough for me, maybe they should send the Islands a Bust of their
illustrious leaders who were in charge at the start of the war or have they conveniently forgotten their own little indiscretions from that time. They will never get the Islands'back' because they were never theirs in the first place.

It's our island and we'll put what we damned well please on it.

If it was up to me, I'd put a massive lighthouse on it that shone a BFO picture of her onto the clouds so as to be visible from Argentina.

Two things, luv...

1) They're not "your Malvinas," they're our Falkland Islands.

2) That war: you lot started it. Stop being sore losers - it's most unbecoming.

Inorder to to balance things up a bit and in a sprit of rapprochement perhaps the Falkland islanders could name their new public toilets "El presedente kirchner memorial bogs".

"Waffle, negotiations, blah blah."

Negotiate away, by all means. It should be a quick chat:-

Kirchner: "We demand the Malvinas be given to Argentina."

Cameron: "No chance, end of. Thank you so much for coming. Goodbye."

Point made, case closed, negotiations over.

The trouble is that Britain can't back down. There's 14 other overseas territories to consider, who'd all have to become wops of some kind if we did.

Under UK Jurisdiction (15)

Who would want the Pitcairn Islands? Aren't they all related as in your brother is your father who is your mothers son?
As for the Isle of Man, the only good thong it has is the TT every year and a killer, no speed, limit outside of the towns.

Argentina is going to prattle on about the Falklands for years, if they would of behaved in the 80's they actually may of got the islands in a deal, but they blew it
