As Armortek have announced the release of their M3 thought it might be a good idea to post any Lee or Grant pics here for reference material. So going to kick off with this interesting shot.

I remember making the Airfix 1/32nd one they did back in the day. Probably a crap kit but ever since I've had a soft spot the M3 in UK service. Dunno why.
I'm really interested in the WD campaign 41-43 so am intending a few kits from this time. Valentine, Crusader, LRDG chevvy, Austin ambo etc & the Grant is another on my to do list.

I had the Monogram kit. Came with tips on building a diorama if I remember. Loved it!
Shep Paine did those diorama sheets

The Lee had a crewman disarming a mine made from a Pz IV roadwheel
The Grant one had it passing a wrecked Pz IV
The Ostwind had the crew @ Arnhem surrendering to paras
The Sherman M4 had it hedgerow busting(and how to convert the bogie units to the later Heavy Duty units)
the M4A1 had a whitewash Ardennes scene

EDIT Found the sheets

I have been kindly given some information on the above photograph:

I've seen another pic of that tank, taken from the right rear. It seems to have been used as an ammo evaluation tgt. by 88mm. A grazing hit has torn a long narrow strip off the top RH part of the turret, which would be why it has slewed around to the right, and would also be what the two blokes on the turret are looking at. The force of multiple hits has driven the running gear so far into the ground that the rear of the hull is nearly touching, and the RH return wheel has been snapped off completely.

BBC 4 its on catch-up, Tankies : Tank heroes of WW2. Its the story of 6 members of the filthy fifth, 5RTR. I know it's been on before, but I thought there might be some good reference material.
Episode 1 is about the Regts time in Nth Africa. It covers the periods when the Regt was equipped with Valentine's, Cruisers. But also M2 M3 and M4A1s.
The M3 was also used in the Burma Campaign by the British and Indian army.

Grant CDL (canal defence light) with powerful ark light in the turret. Used to illuminate the battlefield or destroy night vision/disorientate with its shutter.
