Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Apologies all I have looked through the search function but can't find a recent post many were before the rewrite of Pam 21.

I am loaded on this course this weekend and have heard different information from people who have done it.

The RTC said that there was no pre reading / pre requisites but this guy who did one earlier said there was, can anyone confirm. Spoke to him tonight hence late post.

    Cheers

  2. Nope, no prereading required.
If you can, take a laptop and printer. It makes writing the EASP (now called an EAM) easier. That said, you will have 2 weeks to write it at home. Usually the first day is classroom and demo Battle Lesson or Battle Exercise in field, day 2 is recce of training area for your BL/BE the the next weekend will be the students giving BL/BEs.

    Try to get off DII the electronic copy of Pam 21, Pam's 5 - 5.56 rifle, 08 LMG, 13 - Grenades, 17 - GPMG, 2 - Fieldcraft.

They will all help in writing the EASP/EAM as you will need to reference pasages from them and list rates of fire and safety distances and you will have to do it at home, the RTC?ATU may lend you the relivant Pam's but it is easier long term to have your own.

  3. Thank you very much for this Carlos will be asking the TAC now.
