I hesitate to ask, but on the Marine's glove in the Times today he had M.I.S.T on his glove knuckles - is this an acronym I should remember?

Depends when you got out, not restricted so:
Info that medics need when you hand the cas over to them.
M-Mechanism of injury...GSW, RPG etc
I-(Type of) Injury, found or suspected
S-Signs, Pulse Rate, Blood Pressure, Resp rate
T-Treatment given, morphine, torniquet
