Looking for Info on the Sha Wali Kot offensive

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. In order to try and do a comparison with FRA tactics during the war in Algeria when "intervention" units chased down and destroyed FLN guerillas after they crossed the border, I have been looking for information on the Sha Wali Kot offensive for a while.

So far, I have been unable to trace anything like an official report or a detailed, day by day description of this engagement which, to the best of my knowledge, lasted about 4 days, resulted in around 100 INS KIA and led to the award of a battle honour to SASR and 2 Commando.

I have of course found the Wiki article but I was wondering if anybody could point me in other directions (in depth articles, maps, presentations, pictures other than those found on the AUSMOD site, etc...) ?

    Thanks in advance and regards.
  2. Thank you for taking the trouble !

There is a mass of info there; I am sure I will find some interesting stuff.
