Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. We have all heard the Borg (RGJ) whoop with delight about leaving the Londons, but how do the remaining Companies feel about their future?

Are they looking forward to working with the Guards?

    Is it a definate affiliation?

Have any PSI's been attached from the Guards yet?

  2. You'd be surprised how little "whooping" there is, amongst the grown ups at least.

Th Bn sent two mixed capbadge companies to Iraq, back to back last year ( I did not go ) and by all accounts performed admirably.

Sure, it will be good to have a big gaggle of RGJ, but a fair few of us have some good mates who do not march at 140 to the minute.

  3. Never mind, im sure your make new friends. lol

    Only joking.

Same sort of thing at Oxford and M/Keynes.

We COLLECTIVELY call our heavy friends " honoury Green Jackets", a title they are somewhat fond of !

Unfortunately the Borgettes dont seem to share the exictment, i think Regimental pride might be dwindling, thanks SDR.

  4. The London's should be looking up - Horseguards does tend to ensure that the Guards get involved in things at an early stage. They may get involved in sexier tours/attactchments than the departing Borg will get with the Rifles

  5. when the RGJ leave will there be anyone left in the london regiment

  6. Yes

  7. Is there no news from within the Heavy Companies of the Londons regarding their future affiliations? There must be something - every other TA Inf Coy seems to know what their future holds

Will the Londons be the last remaining Multi cap badge battalion?

Will they form a new identity?

  8. 612 people have had a look, but only 6 replies! Why the interest?

  9. aparently
    a coy- scots guards
    b coy- coldstream
    c coy- grenadiers
    d coy-irish

but insted of a multi cap badge a londons one instead or keep the cap badges as they are now

  10. HOW CAN A MULTI CAPBADGE SYSTEM SERIOUSLY INTERGRATE INTO THE GUARDS SURLY YOU NEED A SINGLE BATTALION CAPBADGE AND HEADRESS THE SAME AS YOUR PARENT UNIT OTHERWISE THEY WILL NOT EXCEPT YOU

  11. Well if they can only accept the Londons then that'll be just dandy.

Obviously all Guardsmen wear the same shiny capbadge so no change there.

  12. Top tip - the Guards don't wear cap-badges on their berets, they wear cap-stars!

    Whys that then ?

  14. I'm confused by this

First off it was said that the Londons (less Light lot) would be organised as a single Btn in the houshold div, the idea to bring them together collectively as one unit, great, then they say, "Oh but each Coy will be a different Capstar" doesn't make sense in a Bn sense
