London Musings...

...christ, trying to sit as far away as possible from kids and people and some couple with a dog and two bratty kids and posh accents still have to pick a table pretty much next to me? And the whole bloody place is empty.Aaaah!

This shall be my regular I hate/love/hope it blows up/ best/worst city in the world/ musings thread.

Feel free to add any, if you like.

Move this thread elsewhere if in the wrong place.

I blame darkness, drink and the fact that I am a loser. And now I need to find a Tesco somewhere.

Stab them all whilst shouting incoherently .
Apparently it's the done thing down there these days.

Does the OP even bother to get out of his pyjamas before going out drinking these days?

Perhaps you too should move elsewhere if you are in the wrong place? ;)
Hey, I got to this corner of the pub first. It's not a small pub either. And it's empty. I don't want a posh/whoever couple wittering about some random shit about dogs and crap next to me. Go away.

You need to be exposed to the life of parents, it’s good training.

Unless you've already been barred is there a Public Library anywhere near you?

Dry, warm & generally quiet.
PC stations plus selection of papers - Local & National
Some have a cafe, most have WCs.
Librarians knowledgable, (some in both senses of the word, nudge nudge wink wink)
Alcohol free - unless you BYO in a discrete brown paper bag a la USA
etc etc

What's not to like?

Get on trend, go and sit in the underpass next the House of Commons, if you freeze to death you’ll get a wreath from Corbyn the Cnut.

Having moved from the big smoke I've had to adjust to
  • Talking to people on trains
  • Not having allergies
  • Beer being cheap
  • Not having a commute
  • Having a smaller mortgage for a bigger house
  • Village gossip and actually talking to neighbours
  • Having more free time due to the lack of commuting
  • Not having to think about being stabbed on the streets
  • Having a local paper where someones dog does a shit or someone breaks into a shed is news
It's a tough life sometimes

It’s also where the homeless unwashed gather so he might finally fit in with the locals , could also pick up tips for when his benefits run out....

Not being put to sleep by an alcoholic, unemployed, broken jawed American.

As opposed to 'oop North' where a rucksack bomb is far more acceptable
