I’m in Lanarkshire, not sure how many etc but I did the Covid questionnaire etc and all good etc, said the tried to get around it but if your in a lockdown area, you ain’t going.

Don't get too upset, there will be many more like you as its the whole of Wales and the North of England that will be in the same boat.

I know Alphas have been pulled for people from lockdown areas too but Phase 2 training for people in lockdown areas and other training have still gone ahead.

I’m gutted, did my assessment the week before the Covid lockdown, got deferred on a medical issue (would have been fine if it wasn’t the weekend and the specialist was on) now this! Will get there eventually!

How come you have to do selection again?

Never actually got to finish the assessment, did all the Medicals and seen the doc last, basically an issue with my heart, as I said, the specialist ok’d on the Monday!
Because of the “heart issue” wasn’t allowed to do my run in case I dropped dead!

was booked back on a week or two later and Covid stopped everything!

Right. There were a few on our selection the same, nearly me but they allowed me to do the run then deferred me until I could get all the medical records because they said they hadn't got my RGMD.

It sounds like you have failed to reach the medical standards for entry and are now temporarily medically unfit.
Use the time you’ve now been afforded to gather detailed and qualified medical evidence for the medical appeal.

Be productive and keep on top of your phys. Good luck and stay motivated.

no, I’m medically fine, I was just unlucky that my assessment was the weekend and not during the week when the specialist was on, doctor though she heard a murmur and I had to do an extra test, which then need the specialists ok, which i got on the Monday. Was literally booked back on a week or 2 later, Covid keeps screwing me over, but it could be worse I suppose

Just bide your time, just have to play the waiting game.

We're all in the same boat dude, all of us waiting assesment centre!

I did speak to them today, and they're trying to find a way around it by means of asking the recruit if they can get to the selected centre and do a 1 day packed with everything, so that it can be passed as a working day, and go home in the evening.

I also had a travel exemption letter, did you have one? I've got a 3hr drive to Lichfield

no travel letter, I literally got pulled of it the day before!

was gonna drive down myself, only about an hour away.

they can def do the 1 day thing, last time I was there all the medical stuff took from about 7am till lunch, a lot of the guys also did most of their physical tests in between, I left after lunch (medical deferred) And the only had the run and team exercises to do and their was talk about them getting away that night.

That's a right kick in the nads pal

I'm hoping the travel letter will allow me to leave a lockdown letter for employment. Don't mind cracking on all day and getting home, as long as I can get it done
