Liverpool Fans The Worst In Europe??

Discussion in 'Sports, Adventure Training and Events' started by Howay_the_Lads, Jun 5, 2007.

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. A Uefa report is set to name Liverpool's fans as the worst behaved in European competition.... There have been 25 incidents involving Liverpool fans away from home since 2003 and these are in the report - most teams' supporters do not cause any trouble at all.

    Fair comment or not?
  2. Not sure whether they have the most incidents or the most per thousand at each game.

Given the number of matches and travelling fans you would expect them to have more than Cardiff, even if Cardiff have their own low reputation.

Having said that, I've no great respect for Liverpool fans. Even the reasonable ones think the rough types are saints (and funn, besides) just because they're from Liverpool. Hillsborough and Heysel .... no coincidence.

You can take the Scousers out of Liverpool, but you can't take Liverpool out of the Scousers.
  3. Yep, and they support the worst bag-o-shite team in Europe as well. Bunch of theiving, rioting, red scum.

    6 times my arres.

The Toffee's are were its at. We might not have your glory, but we will NEVER have you shame.
  4. I have to agree, given the examples of Hillsborough, Heysel and Athens and the 'it's not our fault, it's the fault of....' insert UEFA/local Police/ground staff/other teams fans
  5. Right, you bunch of self righteous pricks listen in.

If you go to ANY of the Reds websites, RAOTL, RAWK etc you will find any number of people going on the record to condemn the scum elements of our support. Equally you will find people trying to defend their actions. I believe they were indefensible but I am sure there are other opinions out there in the contributors to those sites.

Yes, we were at Heysel. Yes we fought. Yes we killed those Juventus fans. And finally. YES - WE ARE ASHAMED! Nobody goes to a football match expecting to die, and we have to take our fair share of blame for that debacle in 1985.

All we ask is that UEFA do the same, and acknowledge that the showpiece final should NEVER have taken place in that crumbling excuse for a ground. Thats all. Yes it would never have been shown to be crumbling if all the fans had behaved, but they didn't, and the ground wasn't up to it - simple as. Deaths resulted and it leaves a stain on the soul of true reds everywhere.

Hillsborough was caused by the Police decision to open the gates to the Leppings lane end - simple as. Leppings lane - if you are unfamiliar with it, had - at the time - three pens. It was not immediately obvious to the fans rushing in (as the game had kicked off) that there were two pens on either side. Everyone made a beeline for daylight ie the centre pen. Massive crush resulted and 96 deaths the result. The event was badly policed, and many of the improvements that matchgoers take for granted now were implemented as a result of the inquiry into the disaster, such as unified command of the event, late kick offs if away fans are known to be delayed etc. Oh, and the not inconsiderable changes of the removal of "hoolie" fencing and all seater stadia.

All we have ever wanted is that the Police responsible at the event have their actions examined in public and their criminal negligence exposed.

I was in Athens and saw the crush at the game. I do not condone the "in's in" crowd but I understand why they think they were justified.

One question. What Rocket Scientist thought it would be a good idea to stage a showpiece football match at a stadia without turnstiles? Which leads to another one - Is it any wonder that people got in on blag tickets if they weren't being individually checked a' la every football ground in this country?

Finally. This is the same set of Fans described as "brilliant" by M. Gaillaird prior to the final.

This is the same set of Fans presented with a special award (with Alaves) for behaviour and friendliness after the 2001 UEFA Cup Final in Dortmund.

This is twenty five incidents over four years.

In the same four years Roma fans stabbed twelve Man U fans, at one match. Italian fans have thrown SCOOTERS at Riot Police from terracing inside the stadium - oh yes and shot one dead. Feyenoord and Ajax, Fenerbahce and Galatasaray and any number of Athens Derbies have ALL had fatalities during or immediately after the match.

Nor do we subject Black players to Racist abuse or hurl Nazi slogans from the terraces.

The case for the defence rests.

  6. obviously a bunch of pussys then arent you?

  8. Had a wee arguement with the guy here at work - and although he has said yes to the fact that there are scallies, it is all down to the Policing, set up of security and the fact there were no turnstiles.

Agreed that the security of this was crap, and that having the gates open was stupid, but as has been said, the AC Milan fans did not behave like knuckle dragging fcuk wits, and the fact that so many got in by "stealing, charging and showing leaflets rather than tickets" and that this seems acceptable to Liverpool fans is just lunacy. I will never forget watching Heysel unfold, nor will I forget watching Hillsborough unfold.

Once bitten twice shy, but this is not the case of the Liverpool faithful.

Sorry but you need to grow up and sort out your fcuking admin. OK the stadium was not big enough for the demand, but no stadium would be - if it has capacity for 100,000 then 150,000 tickets will be demanded.

Liverpool fans must take the lions share of the blame for Athens, and I honestly think they were to blame for Hillsborough aswell.

Sorry to any reds fans, but that is my honest and frank opinion. You may not agree, but that is your right!
  9. Im not saying that all Reds fans are angels far from it, unfortunately there will always be a minority that spoil it for the majority

Ever been to Lime St on a match day ??

Only ever trouble when the Mancs are in town!!!

  10. Found it quite ironic watching the footage from Athens..................

"Its the police fault" was the cry, yeah right

Funny I didn't see the cops throwing chairs/bottles etc & baying like wild animals...........

Yup, it was definetly the cheerie scouse scallies!!!

Problem for a lot of these deadbeats is they expect to be treated with kid gloves as they are here due to our tolerance of scrotes.

Unfortunately for them, european police are slightly more robust when confronted by pi$$ed up tossers.

As for Hillsborough, again, "Its the Police's fault"

Not the Pi$$ed ups scousers all leaving the pub at the last minute & then trying to get into the ground (with or without tickets ) at the last minute.

    Bunch of fcukwits
  11. See Bold - notwishstanding the LIVERPOOL fans, Drunk, and ticketless rushing the gates at 5mins before 3, seems that Nothing was learnt that day was it................ very short memories your fans have....or is it that they don't care and just want to see the game at ANY cost....generally someone else's cost

  13. How can you condemn an entire fan base of a football team for the actions of a few. You obviously have no fcuking idea what you are talking about.

Some Liverpool fans are complete knobs. When we got beat in the Champions league there was Reds attacking Reds in Liverpool City Centre. But there was also Reds minding their own business making their way home from the pubs where they watch away matches without incident.

All the fault of Liverpool fans is it.

Well Google this little boy, Jon-Paul Gilhooley aged 10 "Liverpool Fan". Killed at Hillsborough.

  14. Better yet how many of them names "All Liverpool fans" were responsible for what happened behind them.

  15. BC, The argument has been done to death, and the truth is that there is blame on both sides, and posting the names of those that died at Hillsborough does not disolve Liverpool fans of any of the blame.

The same can be said with the Champs League final. It is clear that some Liverpool fans robbed and fought their way into the game, denying their fellow fans who were their legitimatly from seeing the game. But which team can honestly say that they dont have a section of their fans that cause trouble?

It is also clear that UEFA made a pigs ear of the organisation and are trying to put the blame entierly on Liverpool to deflect their own weaknesses.

If UEFA want to make the Champs League final the showcase it clearly is, then they could do worse than look at how the Prem League run their games, or even look to the German FA to see how such events can be organised properly
