    Hi Chums and chummettes,

An American friend of mine is having a baby, she's come up with a couple of names and I've dissed them and she's laid upon me the challange of coming up with a decent name suggestion/s.

So I throw the glove at your feet and ask for some suggestions, to start with, here's mine:

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT THE NAAFI SO DON'T KICK OFF WITH NAMES OF ALL THE CRACK WHORES YOU SHAGGED IN BELIZE.

Charlie [love it for that tomboy type name that works for everyone]
Angela [simple, clean, wholesome like mom's apple pie]
Sarah [simple, clean, wholesome like mom's apple pie]
    Sindy [sic]
Jacqueline [unusual apparently, brilliant to shorten]
    Alix [german]
Rebecca [cool, can be germanicised with K's and what-not]
    Aqua [how cool is that?]
    Stephanie
Chelsea [Clinton ish not so cool but still a cool name]
    Lauren / Laura
Emma [simple, clean, wholesome like mom's apple pie]
Zoe [anything with an Z or X is cool]
Natasha [Russian type, shows inspiration and of course can be shortened 200 different ways]
    Anna-Christina [love that double baby!]
Babe [seriously! Think of the upside in the bars when she's 16, bloke sidles over, "hey kid, whatcha name?", "Babe", "Cool! - Here's money"]

  2. Natalia?

Elizabeth - After our Queen, God bless her.

  5. There's crack whores in Belize? 8O

Feck I need a posting there! The crack must be really cheap :p:p:p

    NAMES:

    Jodie
    Angelina
    Samantha

  6. Some more for you

    Jo
    Alexis (Shortens to Lexy)
    Katie
    Caroline
    Amy

Thats ones i liek off the top of my head, there are a couple of unusual ones that my other half and I like, but saving them for our impending!

  7. Don't name her anything beginning with 'X' or 'Z' as she will spend her entire school life at the back of an alphabetical queue.

If you call her Aardvark or something similar she'll always be at the front.

  8. Zoe is nice

Don't let her go with Laura, they're all even weirder than normal women

How about "Nicki, Nikki, Nicky" etc
    Natalie
Elizabeth - can be shortened to Lizzy or Beth (if a bit old fashioned)
    Felicity?
    Maria?
Did you have Sophie in there?
    Emily?
    Hannah?

    Apple? :p :p

  9. How about a good Irish name?

    Niamh (Neeve)
    Roisin (Rowsheen)
    Sinead (Shinayd)

  10. ...because they can't spell :p

  11. I've always liked girls names that shorten down to boys names ie: Charlie, Georgie, Sam, Jo or even Stevie. Of course, its important to take the surname into account too. Calling your daughter Theresa Green or Jenny Taylor (think about it) could come back and bite you in the arse when they choose your carehome.

  12. keira - nice name.

rachel - all girls i know called rachel are fit, fact

vicky- my first true love awwwww!

choi - thai bird, herford. 90 euros

  13. Samantha (Sam, Sammi)
    Charlotte (Charlie)
    Elizabeth (Lizzy, Beth, Elsbeth, Lilly/lillybet)
Bernard, its good enough for Nursey in Blackadder, its good enough for anyone

perhaps we could do a list of names to veto, Britney for example.

The worst names I've heard were from the nurses on SCBU, they had premature twins in named "Pistol" and "Diesel".

  14. Georgina - shorted to George, Georgie or gina
    Zara
    Stephanie
    Cerise

    Just a Few

edited to spell a name i should be able to

  15. Surely that applies to surnames, not forenames. We had a lad who changed his name by deed poll 'cos he was fed up with being at the back end of the pay queue. Changed it from "R"-something to "A"-something.
