Light the blue touch paper......Armed Forces Federation?

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. The Council of Europe urged that EU nations should allow their military personnel to form representative organisations, with the caveat that strike action should not be permitted, thus allowing military personnel freedom of association iaw the Human Rights Act.

Should this be allowed in the UK? Especially when you consider the "arbitrary and unfair" Pensions White Paper, upon which about 0.06% of the Services were consulted? Could such an organisation be constituted so it would represent the views of Service personnel on terms and conditions of service without having a negative impact on operational efficiency or underminding the authority of the CO?

    Thoughts please!

  2. the police do have a federation to represent their interests?
perhaps a single organisation representing the rank&file and officers would be useful
