The Council of Europe urged that EU nations should allow their military personnel to form representative organisations, with the caveat that strike action should not be permitted, thus allowing military personnel freedom of association iaw the Human Rights Act. Should this be allowed in the UK? Especially when you consider the "arbitrary and unfair" Pensions White Paper, upon which about 0.06% of the Services were consulted? Could such an organisation be constituted so it would represent the views of Service personnel on terms and conditions of service without having a negative impact on operational efficiency or underminding the authority of the CO? Thoughts please!
