Life at Southwick Park question

I will be moving into the DCPG next month, and a few things got left out during my Phase 2 visit.

I was just wondering if anybody knows if a) There is internet, wifinity even, in the accommodation blocks?
and b) Are you given a leave period during training, like you receive during Phase 1, or is that negated by being able to go home on the weekends later on?

You get block leave as long as you don't cock up and get shoved on duties instead.

Mobile phone signal for some networks is zero. 3 are pretty good there though; you can get data (and therefore mobile internet) on that.

You can get WIFI, it's provided by a crowd called Media Force, subscription is £10 a week, £25 a month etc, it's cheaper the longer you prepay for. Vodafone signal is rubbish, I'd recommend a 3 PAYG, if you don't already a contract with them. The phase 2s seem to have the majority of weekends off, depending on duties, and leave is normally taken as a block, the standard Summer, Christmas and Easter periods.

I'm there on course fro 2 week mid-Feb. Fecking grim place, but if you are able to Gunwharf is OK, nando's, casino, quality gash and Domino's give 50% discount!

Get the Costas in? ;)

Back when it was HMS Dryad there was a really good beer shop in the village.

Not sure if its still there.

The Golden Lion pub sells excellent homemade "monster wine" that can be bought and taken out. Give yourself a good couple of days for recovery though. There's a horse riding stables just across the football fields - great for perving top totty! Dunno if it's still there but the wardroom had the original D-Day map thing on the wall from when Eisenhower stayed there. See link below:

Still there. One of the RMP Colonels used to give a good tour of it, with all the build-up and actions on the day.

The pub is still pretty good too.

WIFI? LEAVE? I can see your are interested in a military career:?

Do please shut up. It's the Army, not a sodding monastic order. South Park is alright, although the RAFP Cse is probably the strictest of all the trades, so I assume RMP won't be far behind!

About time the military handed back the purloined Southwick Estate. WWII has been over a long time.
No I wont shut up. This is ARRSE !

Yes, it's also the recruiting forum, for people to ask questions; not for you to wet yourself because someone asked about leave and WiFi.
